Stableford – 9th March for Sunday’s Stableford round.
Good to see Brian Amos at the club today, if only to chauffeur Rob C around.
Brendan Freeman had a day out, (including 4 birdies) in his 37 pts to win on a countback from Steve Harris.
Despite his win, Brendan & playing partner, Log (31 pts) still couldn’t take the money.
Brendan’s birdies were on the 6th, then a purple patch of 10th, 12th & 13th. Rowdy claimed 2 birdies (7th, 11th) with Cooper claiming one on the 18th.
Stef gained a spot in the Adam “Goog” Walker shoot-out with his NTP on the 6th, whilst Carrie took the 9th NTP.
Carrie had a good day with his short game, chipping particularly well. Although his playing partners did say, ” whilst the results were very good, you wouldn’t find some of the strokes in the instruction manual.”
Just how good were things were falling for Brendan today. His 3rd shot on the 12th was played from the “burn pile” on the 5th, landing just short of the green. Chipped in for birdie.
Stef’s playing partners said he walked about 25km during his round. Obviously didn’t play down the middle. However, he did have a short walk to his drive on the 1st which landed in a flower bed.
Whilst Cooper hit most fairways today, his putter wasn’t working with an estimated 40 putts for the day. Paul “Angry Bird” Harmer unfortunately suffered from a similar malaise.
Next week is the 1st qualifying round of the Men’s Club Championship, the course is in pristine condition, so let’s see a good line up for the 1st qualifying round.
Enjoy the great weather & have a good week.
