Tales from the Trees

24th November – Stroke Round

A field of 20 contested today’s Stroke round in pleasant, mild conditions.

Stef was ecstatic to get a mention this week as the winner with 77 gross / nett 65 as opposed to his recent mentions for being near the rear of the field & creating memorable “highlights”. Congrats on your round this week. Well done.

Without the wind from last week, Isaac was able to regain his recent form to be runner-up (81/70).

Cooky closed out the top 3 with a 77/71 in a very controlled display of golf.

Two players carded 2 birdies each. They were Brendan (2nd / 11th) & Cooky (13th / 16th).

Singles were carded by Bill Mullan (15th birdie/ferret). His drive went through the back after just missing the hole. The chip back down-hill was heading back toward the tee but hit the hole & dropped. Other singles were Alex Weza (2nd), Spinner (6th), Smithy (15th) & Baz (15th).

Ducky had a ferret for par on the 5th after going over the back with his chip.

Captain Rowdy again scored the NTP.

Ginge’s drive on the 7th was heading toward the Ladies tee before hitting a tree. His partners, when asked to describe what happened, they all said, “too hard to describe, you need to see the video”. Of course, no-one was filming it. Well done guys.

Alex Wez ‘s 2nd shot on the 2nd hole, passed the hole & spun back “too close to miss the birdie putt”. Great shot Alex.

Spinner played his 2nd shot from the pine trees on the 2nd for the second week in a row. Maybe we should plant “Spinner’s Spruces” there.

Good to see a group of young locals out on the course this afternoon. Jimmy Kneen, Mazi Hales, Thomas Lowe & Billy Bowering, hope you enjoy the game & we see you in our fields in coming season.

A few Sunday morning golfers were out again this week, so come along & enjoy a relaxed 9 holes.

Remember Twilight Golf Friday Night.

Have a good week.
