Sunday 4th February – John & Pam Wakelin Trophy

A field of 22 contested the J & P Wakelin Trophy today in perfect conditions for golf.

Thanks to John & Pam for their support.

Welcome to visitors Steven Skeer, Sam McLeod & Gerard Cameron (who’ll be here for a few more weeks).

Drew (Bug) Pegler had a day out with 84 off the stick for a net 66 to win the trophy.

Continuing his recent good form, Log MacGregor was runner-up with 79, net 67.

Steven Skeer was third (87/69) on a count-back from Cooper Walters (83/69).

John Wakelin put his name up for the “Goog Walker” NTP Shoot-out on the 6th/15th.

The Comp NTP was won by Brendah Freeman.

Cooper Walters (2nd), Shane Smith (7th), Adam Walker (11th), Sam McLeod & Wally Altschwager (12th, Craig Sunderland (14th & Chris Snook (16th) all scored birdies. Well done fellas.

When asked about any memorable shots, the response was “Bug”.

The other highlight on a slow day was Stef’s buggy, which appears to have as much energy as some of the golfers, as it expired 14th.

Next week’s comp is a Stableford round.

Check the website / Facebook re the 4 week Junior competition. If you have kids/grandkids, get them involved.
